Do you think this could bridge the gap between Hurtado on exalted figures and their relationship to Christology (eg.One God, One Lord) vs. Bauckham's thesis on divine identity (God Crucified)?timbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13059862238106919852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13840519.post-44862215447517655552009-01-17T11:40:00.000-06:002009-01-17T11:40:00.000-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.timbhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13059862238106919852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13840519.post-35603627471679797162009-01-16T20:19:00.000-06:002009-01-16T20:19:00.000-06:00By the way, I would agree with Bauckham and Aune t...By the way, I would agree with Bauckham and Aune that the Angel in Revelation 10 is an angel. I believe it is Aune who suggests that it may be the angel that represents Christ (Rev. 1:1).Alan Bandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09631479580408195078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13840519.post-87413427914349258632009-01-16T20:18:00.000-06:002009-01-16T20:18:00.000-06:00Be sure to read the outstanding work of Matthias R...Be sure to read the outstanding work of Matthias R. Hoffman, The Destroyer and the Lamb. It is absolutely stunning.

Angelomorphic Christology is a fascinating study. Compare this text in Revelation 10 with Daniel 12:5-12. This is the same angel in both texts. The point, I believe, is that in Daniel the angel swore it would be "the time of the end" before these things would be revealed. In Revelation 10:6-7, the same angel stands up and swears that there is no more delay. Judgment and the revelation will come when the seventh trumpet sounds. The seventh trumpet sounds in Revelation 11:15. The scroll that was sealed in Daniel 12 is now revealed (Revelation) by the same angel.

Anyway, that is my take. Great blog, by the way.
