Obviously it went into much more detail than even this opening chapter had the ability to do. While you raise a great point in that it is near impossible for the average Christian to go into the kind of depth when interpreting culture, I think KJV is trying to raise the standard and encourage the church to strive toward this goal. <br /><br />This is an obvious point, but I found that the church's biggest weakness when understanding culture is that it looks at illocutions instead of perlocutions when deciding whether a cultural artifiact glorifies God.
