Thanks to Steve Walton for alerting me to this little gem from the Times about dealing with undergrads. It's funny, because it's partly/mostly/completely true!
Once, when assigning students 1) a series of pages to read, 2) tell the class how the reading relates our discipline and 3) name at least one practical implication from the reading, a student raised their hand and asked "What does 'implication' mean?"
I like the one is this going to be in the test. Its always worth a try!!
