I came across the following quote the other day and it struck me as sadly true. And I share this to take nothing away from the great work of scholarship and publishing that goes on in these efforts.
Odd, the way the less the Bible is read the more it is translated.
- C.S. Lewis to T.S. Eliot, letter dated 25 May 1962, in remarks related to the then freshly translated NEB (NT).
Mr Ryken's comments seem somewhat disingenuous and would seem just as applicable to the ESV.

I got my free copy of the NT in the mail yesterday. My wife and I are reading through Acts together.
