Warren Austin Gage wrote his dissertation on John's gospel and revelation, attempting to prove that they were a literary diptych. He showed chiastic parallel correspondences throughout the two Johannine texts. In the midst of his discussion, he found that the Woman Caught in Adultery fit perfectly into both correspondence paradigms. Quite interesting.
