Is Michael Bird a Christian?
On the net I stumbled across this on-line discussion about whether or not Michael Bird (i.e. moi) is a Christian. Some persons have obviously taken exception to my approach to historiography and the historical Jesus. I'll be honest and say that this is not a topic that I find myself discussing very often with people.

You are quite correct to use the term 'some persons'. The Infidels Discussion Board is largely populated by cowards who do not wish to reveal their true identities, including those who own and moderate the site. More likely it is owned and moderated by folk who have their own agenda that is religious, not atheist, which is the prime reason for using aliases, or avatars of the ether.
Well I for one think you're a Christian...
Hold on, maybe you're not,
Nope, you definitely are not a ~(Christian).
The Debunking Christianity blog had a discussion not long ago about me that ranged into whether or not I am a Christian, but in a sense I started it with a post on 'Why I am a Christian'...
I presume many fundamentalists would dispute whether I am a Christian, and of course I return the favor! :)
It just proves that the whole "liberal-conservative" labels mean nothing unless you know who's talking from where. I think of you as a very conservative Christian, indeed, one who's predestined to be saved :-)
People who say things like this just have no idea, absolutely no idea what they're talking about... And I'm afraid they're a heafty portion of the American church scene.
I love the guy who wrote:
"I doubt that this man is a Christian although I have never heard of him before."
Yep, that pretty much sums it up!
Michael Bird is indeed a Christian scholar, one who loves Jesus dearly:)
Hey, who needs rationality when you're retarded? Right....
Spurgeon went through the same thing dude. You'll make it.
I'd leave a comment but that would presume that these discussions were worth responding to. But unlike them I won't remain anonymous or pseudononymous!
Ditto, Matt.
